Each gallon of crude is split into the components that the market needs. Sometimes it's aviation fuel, home heating oil, deisel, JP4, kerosene or consumer gasoline. How many gallons of actual gasoline comes out of a barrel of oil after all of the refining process?
Gasoline is by far the most common component of crude oil. I don't have the exact figure, but remember, there are things added in the refining process, so you can't go by original material only.
