How the crude oil is refines/processes to produce ethane and other petrochemical products that we use daily?

Petroleum consists of liquid and/or gas phases. Generally some of the lower hydrocarbons may be dissolved in the liquid phase.

Actually most of the ethane produced is found with the gaseous phase and is condensed from it by cooling under increased pressure.

Gasoline and other liquids are mostly made from distillation of the liquid petroleum phase.
