What is highly refined peanut oil versus hydronated oil?

Peanut oil has a very high ';smoke point';.





That is. You can heat it WAY up before it will begin to break down, smoke and eventually, burn. Refining peanut oil can have a number of meanings, but often, it means that impurities and lesser fractions of the oil are removed to actually increase the high heat tolerance.





Hydrogenating any fat involves whipping hydrogen into the fat in order to take up molecular ';spaces'; that allow the fat to become rancid and spoil. This is one of the reasons that margarine has remained on the scene. It just doesn't go bad (as butter does) for a considerable time.





The bad thing is: You can take a nice clean oil with no (or very little) trans-fat and hydrogenate it into a very bad, but long-lived and tasty fat that will rocket your cholesterol into the stratosphere.





It's a trade-off.

Hydrogenated fat Sticks to the side walls of ur arteries..whereas peanut oil is sensitive oil and it should not be treated atheat since it looses uits nutrients..Refined usually means good stuff taken out of the oil so and bad stuff added..try juts plain peanut oil. Dont buy stuff with refined or hydrogenated written on it.


Peasnut I beleive has HDL (good cholestrol) and I think faaty acids..god for ur body on the other hand hydrogenated or refined stuff might have all good stuff taken out and bad added.
