Why do we ship american oil overseas to be refined, when we have refineries here in the USA?

Because we don't have enough here in the USA, and the dems won't allow us to build anymore. So, thank the left for the high price of gas.Why do we ship american oil overseas to be refined, when we have refineries here in the USA?
Several reasons include technical and economic factors.

1. The crude petroleum is sold to the highest bidder, not the nearest bidder

2. There are different kinds of crude oil, such as sweet/light and dark/heavy. They have different applications and uses.

3. Different kinds of refining processes are needed to make different products from the crude oil. Petroleum is processed to make lots of products other than gasoline, like plastics and asphalt.

4. Politics

Why do we ship american jobs overseas when we have unemployed and under-employed people here in the USA?Why do we ship american oil overseas to be refined, when we have refineries here in the USA?
Ask Jimmy Carter about that one!
Because many democrates are beholden to environmentalist. My father worked at a chemical plant for 40 years, and I can tell you that you couldn't take a piss without it being detoxified. These new plants are so environmentally safe, that we should be building them by the dozen.
Our refineries are working at max capacity 24/7
